EU Representation for Sports, Outdoor, and Recreational Products
Sports, outdoor, and recreational products sold in the European Union must comply with the safety requirements of the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 (GPSR). These products must be designed and manufactured so that they do not present risks to consumers during normal or reasonably foreseeable use.
As your independent Authorized Representative (AR) and Responsible Person (RP), EARP provides representation support helping you avoid enforcement actions and supporting your communication with EU authorities.
Why is EU Representation Required?
Sports and leisure products often involve higher-risk environments, active movement and potentially vulnerable users. Injuries can result from design failures, mechanical breakage, missing warnings, inadequate assembly instructions, or incorrect material strength.
EU authorities closely monitor this category because it frequently appears in Safety Gate alerts for risks such as falls, cuts, impact injury, entrapment, or chemical exposure.
Manufacturers must maintain documentation demonstrating that their products meet applicable safety requirements. This documentation must be available to EU Market Surveillance Authorities upon request
